Three Caballeros Animatronics Return to Gran Fiesta Tour:

Today, the Three Caballeros animatronics have returned to the Gran Fiesta Tour in the Mexico Pavilion after a 35 year hiatus. The animatronics first made their debut in the Mickey Mouse Revue attraction at Magic Kingdom when it opened it 1971. They even later appeared in the same attraction in Tokyo Disneyland. Today however,  Panchito, Jose Carioca, and Donald Duck returned to the Gran Fiesta Tour in the grand finale of the attraction.

The animatronics hold a special place in Disney World history since they first appeared in a special preview to government and media officials for "Project Florida" in April 1969. The three animatronics were at the Magic Kingdom until the Mickey Mouse Revue in 1980 and then were taken to Tokyo Disneyland where they began performing in 1983. Mickey Mouse Revue closed in Tokyo in 2009 after 26 years and was replaced by Mickey's Phillharmagic.

Today, they returned to Epcot for the grand finale surprising guests as they saw the finale where Panchito, Jose Carioca, and Donald sing and samba again. To celebrate the occasion, Disney Design Group artist Richard Terpstra joined D23 members and revealed a brand new t-shirt showcasing artwork of the Three Caballeros that was released today via the Disney Parks online store.

Star Wars Fireworks Show Moved Up as Details are Released:

Yesterday, we reported that Symphony in the Stars: Galactic Dessert Party would begin in January. Today, the Disney Parks Blog revealed the new "Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular" fireworks show at Disney's Hollywood Studios will now begin December 18.

The news was revealed during a media event for the newly opened Star Wars Launch Bay. Tony Giordano, show director for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Creative Entertainment said during a Q&A panel:

"You can expect lots of beautiful, sweeping John Williams music. I think that music was made for a fireworks show. So to be able to see that beautifully up in the stars with the beautiful music - its fireworks like only Disney can do. I'm really excited that you will all get to see something that's really unique to what anyone can offer. We're the only ones that can offer Star Wars so come experience it."

New music from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be incorporated into the show which also opens on December 18 in theaters. The new fireworks show will be shown on December 17 during the special 'Force Awakens' party at Hollywood Studios after a screening of the movie at AMC Disney Springs 24 theater.
