Are Star Wars Live-Action TV Shows Coming to Netflix?

Cinelinx is reporting that several live-action Star Wars shows could be in the works with Netflix. They are saying that nothing is nailed down but Disney is trying to nail down a schedule to shoot the series in between films, so they could use the same sets.

The article states that LucasFilm has really firmed up their schedule in the last few weeks including announcing the released for the second anthology film about Han Solo. So with firming up their schedules they are looking more and more into TV options, including Netflix.

Here is the information they are reporting: "Disney is looking to continue their partnership with Netflix for their Star Wars shows. Yes, I said shows. I've heard there's talk of potentially three different live-action shows for Netflix, in much the same way Marvel has deals in place for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc."

LucasFilm already has a great relationship with Netflix as they already used the platform to release the final season of "Clone Wars" exclusively on Netflix along with the other five seasons. No release date has be pinpointed yet but Cinelinx is guessing around 2017 for the first series.

More Rumored Closings at Hollywood Studios; Disney Pixar's "Lava" Now on Disney Movies Anywhere for Limited Time

More Rumored Closings at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

It shouldn't be a shock to anyone that there are more rumored closings at Disney's Hollywood Studios. WDW News Today is reporting that Walt Disney: One Man's Dream and Voyage of the Little Mermaid will reportedly (although just a rumor at this point) close at the end of September. Most likely the end of Disney's fiscal year on September 27, 2015.

This is all coming as the expected big expansion announcement for Hollywood Studios that is expected to be announced at the D23 EXPO in two weeks. One Man's Dream is expected to be moved to a new location most likely the recently vacated by The Magic of Disney Animation. All the exhibits would most likely move there too. However, Voyage of the Little Mermaid would permanently close and guests could go to the Magic Kingdom and see the more updated attraction of The Little Mermaid in New Fantasyland. Once again this is all rumors and has yet to be announced by Disney.

Disney Pixar's "LAVA" Now on Disney Movies Anywhere App for Limited Time:

For a limited time only, Disney Pixar's animated short "LAVA" is on the Disney Movies Anywhere app on iOS devices, iPhone, iPod, and iPad. It is on the app for a two week window beginning today 7/30 and run through 8/12. "LAVA" is Disney/Pixar's newest animated short that is running currently in theaters in front of "Inside Out."

"LAVA" is inspired by the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes, and is a musical love story that takes place over millions of years.

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters to Replace Luigi's Flying Tires; Iger Says ESPN and Disney Channel Could Be Sold Direct One Day

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters to Replace Luigi's Flying Tires:

Months ago Luigi's Flying Tires in Cars Land closed down at Disney California Adventure and was said to be replaced by another cars related ride. Today, the Disney Parks Blog announced with a first look at the new ride: Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters.

Luigi had left Casa della Tires to visit family in Italy and he will return in early 2016 with his cousins from his hometown of Carsoli, Italy. They are coming back to Radiator Springs to celebrate Race Day where they will demonstrate dances of their village with Cars Land guests. Keep an eye out as more information about Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters as Luigi and his cousins settle in at Disney California Adventure.

Iger Says ESPN and Disney Channel Could be Sold Directly to Customers One Day:

In an interview with CNBC today, Disney CEO Bob Iger said that one day ESPN as a media property could be sold directly to customers like Time Warner's HBO. Iger said not to worry as it wouldn't be happening in the next five years. Iger said, "If we end up seeing more erosion in the so-called multichannel (cable and satellite tv) bundle, quality will win out."

"While the business model may face challenges over the next few years, long term for ESPN.... they'll be fine. The have pricing leverage too. Disney (Channel) is another...brand and product that could be sold directly to the customer," Iger said. Disney owns ABC television and ESPN, theme parks and resorts, and movie studios all under the Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, and Marvel banners.

Iger continued on with, "Technology is the most disruptive force that so-called traditional media is facing. (But) We decided to view technology as a friend not a foe to bring better customer experiences across all our businesses from making media look crisper on HD televisions to mobile and online viewing apps to enhanced attractions at theme parks."

The interview was done with CNBC's "Squawk Box."

Star Wars Land is Practically Confirmed, Ice Palace Boutique Opening Today, Final Part of Magic of Disney Animation to Close

Star Wars Land is Practically Confirmed:

We are just waiting for the big announcement on Star Wars Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Yesterday, Theme Park Insider wrote in an article according to multiple of their sources, Disney has selected a contractor to build the long rumored Star Wars Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios. We have been saying for months that the announcement will be at next month's D23 EXPO beginning August 14. No announcement has be made official by Disney however.

In a direct quote from Theme Park Insider, "Still, when a theme park gets to the point of hiring outside construction help, that means the project is a go and shovels are ready to hit the ground. Fans should expect visible construction work to begin on Star Wars Land in the park not long after the official announcement, unlike the Avatar project, where designs weren't completed and a contractor wasn't hired for a few years after Disney's official announcement of the land."

They also had a note that Star Wars Land for Disneyland will be a bit behind what is set to be built at Hollywood Studios and may not be ready to open until a year after it opens in Disney World. The only think I have that possibly could debunk the sources is that Disney just announced the return of Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights for the holiday season in the Streets of America. That area is a large part of the rumored area where Star Wars Land would go.

As was said earlier no formal announcement has been made by Disney for Star Wars Land and we all will be eagerly awaiting this year's D23 EXPO that starts in less than 3 weeks. Stay tuned as the long rumored Star Wars Land at Disney Parks  develops into more than just a rumor and finally becomes a reality.

Ice Palace Boutique Set to Open Today at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

The Ice Palace Boutique that was confirmed just over a week ago for Frozen Summer Fun at Hollywood Studios is set to open today. It will be located across from the ABC Commissary on Commissary Lane. The wintry palace boutique is for guests 3-12 as they prepare for Coronation Day as they are magically transformed into Queen Elsa or Princess Anna. There are three packages available ranging from $75 for the cheapest package and $240 for the premium package. The Ice Palace Boutique Package and the Ice Palace Boutique Deluxe Package is up to 6 guests including the child getting the magical transformation.

The Animation Gallery Story Set to Close August 23rd:

The Animation Gallery Store the final part of the The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney's Hollywood Studios has a closing date of August 23. The rest of The Magic of Disney Animation closed earlier this month on July 12th.
