Disney Working on Live-Action Snow White Remake; Coronado Springs Convention Center Expanding?

Disney Working on Live-Action Snow White Remake:

Nothing is untouchable at Disney where they are re-making some of their animated classics into live-action films, this includes Snow White, their very first animated feature. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is now in development for a live-action film. Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train) is in talks to write the film and Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are attached to write new music for the film. Marc Platt, who is also working on Mary Poppins Returns for Disney, is scheduled to produce the film.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news. It had this in the article on Snow White:
"Disney's original Snow White animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs came out in 1937. Based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale, Snow White was Disney's first animated feature film and a massive success for the studio. It won an honorary Oscar at the 11th Academy Awards and is considered one of, if not the most, successful animated films of all time."
While no release date or even the plot of the film has been announced, Disney's next live-action remake to hit theaters will be another one of its animated classics in "Beauty and the Beast" starring Emma Watson as Belle. That film will hit theaters March 17, 2017. Disney has recently announced live-action re-makes of "The Lion King" which will be directed by Jon Favreau and "Aladdin" which Disney announced Guy Ritchie will direct.

Are you excited to see a Disney directed live-action remake of its first animated film in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

Coronado Springs Convention Center Expanding?:

WDW News Today is reporting that Reedy Creek has filed permits that could be related to an expansion of Coronado Springs Resort's convention center. The application filed says there will be a new stormwater management pond and expansion of another pond to accommodate future additions within Coronado Springs.

No further details were given although Disney has scheduled Coronado Springs to be under refurbishment beginning Fall 2016. The speculation behind the expansion is that expanding the already spacious convention center inside the resort will take pressure off the convention center at Disney's Contemporary Resort that Disney is rumored to be closing.

Stay tuned for details.

More Rumors on Rivers of Light Opening Date; Behind the Scenes Look at New Spaces Aboard Disney Wonder

More Rumors on Rivers of Light Opening Date:

Just last week we discussed how guests attending Destination D: Amazing Adventures could be one of the first to see Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom. The discussion has been gaining strength on when the show will debut to the public. Today, WDW News Today put more fuel on that fire according their sources at least.

While the rumor to attendees of Destination D seem to be getting a preview on November 20 at the end of the event, according WDWNT now Disney is eying a Rivers of Light debut on November 18 just two days before the special viewing for Destination D attendees. Of course none of this is set in stone. As we all know it is now almost 6 months as to when this new nighttime spectacular was set to originally debut.

Is the light finally being lit at the end of the tunnel? Could we finally be seeing this new nighttime spectacular that is expected to be one of the best if not the best nighttime show Disney has ever created. If the rumors are true we should be hearing from Disney very, very soon.

Behind the Scenes Look at New Spaces Aboard the Disney Wonder:

The Disney Wonder is on its way back from its 6-week transformation in Cadiz, Spain. The Disney Parks Blog got a sneak peak look at all the new venues and experiences aboard the ship. The unveiling of theses new experiences will debut on the November 10 sailing from Galveston, Texas. Here is the video below:

Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2 Switch Release Dates, Muppet Babies Making a Return, and More

Toy Story 4 and The Incredibles 2 Switch Release Dates:

Pixar has decided that "Toy Story 4" just won't be ready for its 2018 release date and will be switching release dates with "The Incredibles 2." Now "Toy Story 4" will be released on June 21, 2019 and "The Incredibles 2" will now be released on June 15, 2018.

"Toy Story 4" will open a new chapter of Buzz, Woody, and the Toy Story gang. It will be directed by John Lasseter himself and is written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.
“We love these characters so much; they are like family to us,” said Lasseter. “We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before. Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself.” - John Lasseter.
Brad Bird who is directing the "The Incredibles 2" has just said it will be more "Incredibles" and that he isn't giving anything away and it will be a surprise for fans.

Muppet Babies Making a Return in 2018 on Disney Junior:

"Wocka, Wocka, Wocka!" Go crazy Muppets fans because the Muppet Babies are returning to tv very soon. Muppet Babies, the animated tv show that ran from 1984 to 1991 will be coming to Disney Junior in 2018. The adorable versions of Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie, Animal, and Gonzo will be returning where the new series will be chronicling their playroom antics once again. Even Miss Nanny will be returning.

The show will co-produced by Disney Junior, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media's (DCPI) Content & Media Group, and The Muppets Studio, and will be CG-animated this time around. Each episode will feature two 11-minute stories about the Muppet Babies' adventures. The iconic characters will be doing anything from building a time machine to flying through outer-space.

The series will be geared towards children ages 4-7, but we all know millennials everywhere will want to bring the nostalgia back and watch the show too. The show will highlight creative and critical thinking.

For one I can't wait to see this show as I loved the Muppet Babies when I was younger.

"Once Upon A Time" Projection Show Replacing "Celebrate the Magic":

This morning the Disney Parks Blog announced that a new nighttime projection show is coming to the Magic Kingdom beginning November 4. This means we will be saying goodbye to "Celebrate the Magic" which will be ending its run at the park on November 3.
"In this new show, Mrs. Potts from “Beauty and the Beast” shares bedtime stories with Chip, taking them (and all of us) on a magical trip through the most adventurous scenes from favorite Disney films like “Cinderella,” “Peter Pan,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.”
Scenes that are expected to be guest-favorites include a flight with Peter Pan from London to Never Land, the Mad Hatter’s whimsical tea party, and a daring duel between Gaston and Beast. Mrs. Potts and Chip end their bedtime story with a grand finale that includes appearances by characters from even more Disney films."

"Once Upon A Time" was inspired by a show in similar name in Tokyo Disneyland. It will use projection mapping technology to cover every nook and cranny of Cinderella Castle in vibrant images that will appear almost three-dimensional. You can check the My Disney Experience App for show times and more information on the new show.

Rumors About Rivers of Light Continue to Gain Strength; First Look at Stargazer Lounge Coming to Planet Hollywood

Rumors About Rivers of Light Continue to Gain Strength:

Rumors about Animal Kingdom's yet to debut new nighttime spectacular in Rivers of Light are gaining steam. WDW News Today is reporting that Rivers of Light might be seen exclusively first by attendees of Destination D: Amazing Adventures next month. With the schedule being released yesterday it was noticed that towards the end of Destination D, there will be an optional in-park gathering that takes place at 8 p.m. Originally park admission was required, but now the schedule has been updated to show that it won't be required and details on the in-park gathering are forthcoming.

Even more interesting is Animal Kingdom closes at 7:30 p.m. on November 20 where every other night the park closes at 8:30. Rumors have been swirling for months on Rivers of Light since it was delayed last April. No updates have been given although last week Disney did accidentally leak some info on dining packages for the nighttime spectacular. Although it was quickly pointed out the dates which some were thinking were for May 2017 were actually believed for the details for Rivers of Light original debut.

Could we soon be hearing details on the official debut of Rivers of Light finally? Will Destination D attendees next month actually be the first guests to see the new nighttime spectacular? It sure sounds like it, we will just have to wait and see next month. Destination D: Amazing Adventures takes place November 19-20 at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

First Look at Stargazer Lounge Coming to Planet Hollywood Observatory in Disney Springs:

The new Planet Hollywood Observatory inside Disney Springs will have completely new theming when it opens later this year. It will still feature stars from the big screen but the big focus will be on the stars in the sky, as the restaurant completes its transformation into a turn-of-the-20th-century observatory.

Food and drink menus for the restaurant will be revealed soon. Guests can expect more famous movie memorabilia, video screens, cutting edge music, and a store that will feature themed merchandise. The restaurant will feature the Stargazer Lounge where guests will find signature craft cocktails with names that reflect the planets and space travel.

The Disney Parks Blog gave us a sneak peak at two of those cocktails in The Observatory and the Sparkling Sputnik. The Observatory is a sweet sip with Stoli vodka, tangy Limoncino Bottega, Monin  Peach Tea,  and an infusion of bubbles from Maschio Prosecco. The Sparkling Sputnik combines prosecco, sparkling water, fresh lime juice, and fragrant mint leaves.
