Disney Pushing Back Opening of Shanghai Theme Park to 2016:

According to a Wall Street Journal article today, Disney is pushing back the opening of its Shanghai theme park to next year in 2016, citing sources close to the project. The article stated that CEO Bob Iger will announce details in a conference call today. It is just another delay in the project over the last decade, 10 months ago Iger stated the park would open late 2015. The article states however that opening the park in the winter months would have less impact than it would in the warmer spring months. Disney is only minority shareholder in the project with the majority held by Shanghai Shendi, which is a consortium of businesses owned by the Chinese government. With the impending push back of the opening Iger will likely still be the CEO when it opens after a 2 year extension in the fall.
