LucasFilm Releases Statement Regarding Rumors, Kingdom Cabanas to be Removed, & More

LucasFilm Releases Statement Regarding Rumors About Future Without Carrie Fisher:

We were all deeply saddened when we lost the great Carrie Fisher late last year. We already knew that  Fisher had completed her role for Episode VIII in the Star Wars saga. The questions and rumors have been swirling about future films that may contain the late Princess/General Leia. Last night, LucasFilm released a statement regarding those rumors/questions.

In it they said that they will not digitally enhance any of Carrie Fisher's performances as Princess or General Leia Organa Solo. Here is the full statement:
"We don’t normally respond to fan or press speculation, but there is a rumor circulating that we would like to address. We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher’s performance as Princess or General Leia Organa.

Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend. We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars."
I can't wait to see what they do to Fisher's storyline considering reports have said she was to have a major role in the final part of the saga, in Episode IX when it releases into theaters 2019. Meanwhile, "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will soar into theaters this December.

Kingdom Cabanas to be Removed from Magic Kingdom:

The Kingdom Cabanas didn't last very long in the Magic Kingdom. After, they already were discounted just a few weeks ago, they will now be removed/discontinued on February 17, 2017. Some have already been removed from the park according to reports.

No word on why they are being removed, but by guess they weren't very successful. Since they were built in late Fall, there have been highly criticized for price at $649/day and the fact that they had no place to be in the Magic Kingdom.

Fisher passed away earlier today days after suffering a massive heart attack on a plane coming back from London to Los Angeles. Carrie Fisher, is most notable for the role of everyone's princess, Princess Leia in the Star Wars Saga. She was 60 and leaves behind her mother Debbie Reynolds and her daughter, Billie Lourd.

“Carrie and I have been friends most of our adult lives. She was extremely smart; a talented actress, writer and comedienne with a very colorful personality that everyone loved. In Star Wars she was our great and powerful princess – feisty, wise and full of hope in a role that was more difficult than most people might think. My heart and prayers are with Billie, Debbie and all Carrie’s family, friends and fans. She will be missed by all.” – George Lucas
“Carrie holds such a special place in the hearts of everyone at Lucasfilm it is difficult to think of a world without her. She was Princess Leia to the world but a very special friend to all of us. Revamped Rivers of America Concept Art, New 2016 Disney Parks Mom Panel, and More

Revamped Rivers of America Concept Art Revealed:

Yesterday, with great sadness many attractions around Disneyland's Big Thunder Ranch and Rivers of  America closed to make way for Star Wars Land. Today, it was revealed that when Rivers of America when it reopens will be revamped with the north bank having a brand new waterfront. This concept art was released by Disney Imagineering:

In the artist's rendering along with the brand new waterfront you can see where the Disneyland Railroad will travel over an elevated trestle. In a press release, Disneyland confirmed that Mark Twain's Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Pirate's Lair will all return when Rivers of America reopens. "The Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia operate along the Rivers of America. Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island - a mysterious place rumored to have hidden treasure - is surrounded by the river."

One item left off the list was the famous canoes that traveled Rivers of America for what might be the final time yesterday. When asked the Disneyland representative had no answers on if they would be returning. Stay tuned as more details on the expansions at both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios are just beginning.

Princess Leia Set to Appear on Upcoming Episode of "Star Wars Rebels":

The second season of "Star Wars Rebels" will return next Wednesday, January 20th at 9/8c on Disney XD. When the show returns, Star Wars fans will see a familiar face of one of iconic characters in the saga in Princess Leia, who is just a teen during this timeline, is sent to Lothal, in the episode called, "A Princess in Lothal."

Executive producer Dave Filoni said, "We thought we had an opportunity to show her learning to be a leader, experimenting with the personality that becomes the stronger more resolute character you see in A New Hope. One of the complex challenges of depicting Leia in 'Rebels' is that we have to remind the audience that at this point she is part of the Empire. She doesn't believe in the empire, but she's acting the part, almost a double agent."

Right now this will be the only appearance for Princess Leia as it is unknown yet if she will be seen again on the show. Princess Leia will not be voiced by Carrie Fisher instead it will be Julie Dolan, who has voiced Leia before in the video game, Star Wars: Uprising.

Will you be tuning in for the return of "Star Wars Rebels" and watch a young Princess Leia?
