New Restaurant at Disney Springs Opening Summer 2016; The Lion Guard Teaser; and More

New Restaurant at Disney Springs Opening Summer 2016:

Homecoming: Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine will bring farm-to-fork cuisine to Disney Springs in Summer 2016. Celebrity Chef Art Smith will be bringing his Florida roots to Disney Springs at Walt Disney World.

Chef Smith is most known for years as Oprah's chef or his appearances on "Iron Chef America," "Top Chef," and "Top Chef Masters." He is a James Beard Foundation award winner and he was born in Jasper, FL. His family still raises cattle, pecans, and heirloom vegetables there. Oh yeah, Smith attended Florida State University and did a culinary internship with the Walt Disney World College Program.

The menu is like a Homecoming for Smith and will feature homemade pimento cheese, Church Lady deviled eggs, low country shrimp and grits, kale salad with Sweet Grass Dairy cheese and spiced pecans, and a grilled Blackstrap pork chop with sawmill gravy. He told the Disney Parks Blog, "Each dish has a Florida twist and makes guests feel like they're on the back porch with me for every meal."

Desserts will be a specialty with cakes, pies, and may other delectable sweets that are made daily and shipped from a bakery in Hamilton County, including the restaurant's signature Mockingbird Cake. The restaurant will have a "rustic-chic" feel with a glass-walled show kitchen and the Southern Shine Bar. The bar will feature whimsical cocktails, punches, and coolers that celebrate an era where characters might have created some homegrown spirits on their homesteads just beyond the springs.

Disney Channel's "The Lion Guard" Releases Teaser:

Disney Channel released a teaser for its upcoming Disney Junior movie "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar" that will premiere November 22 at 7 p.m. ET.  Here is the description:

About The Lion Guard: The Return of the Roar:
Join Kion, second born cub of Simba and Nala, as he takes on the leadership of the Lion Guard and assembles of the best and brightest who will help maintain the Prideland and keep the circle of life intact. Kion gathers not a team of lions, as tradition has dictated, but his own Lion Guard team of the Pride Lands’ fiercest, bravest, strongest, fastest, and keenest of sight. But Kion himself must learn the power of his roar before a genuine and lasting peace can come to the Pridelands.

Meet the Lion Guard!
KION -- The fiercest, and the leader of the Lion Guard. Kion is the second born cub of Simba and Nala and brother of future ruler of the Pridelands Kiara.

BUNGA -- The bravest, and Kion’s best friend and co-conspirator. Bunga is a Honey Badger and adoptive son of Timon & Pumbaa.

FULI -- The fastest cheetah in the Pridelands. And a tomboy who takes her position in the Lion Guard very seriously.

BESHTE -- The strongest who is friends with everyone in the Pridelands. A happy hippo who is still realizing his full strength.

ONO -- The keenest of sight, and the Lion Guard’s intellectual advisor. Ono is an Egret who always has his “eyes in the sky.”
