Colin Trevorrow and Lucasfilm Part Ways for Episode IX; Echo Lake & Others to go Under Refurbishment

Colin Trevorrow and Lucasfilm Part Ways for Episode IX:

Colin Trevorrow has been let go as director of Episode IX of the Star Wars trilogy. Lucasfilm announced just a little while ago. This will be the second director in just the last few months that have been let go. Most recently, Phil Lord was let go as director of the Han Solo anthology film and was replaced by Ron Howard.

Here is the statement from Lucasfilm:
"Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon."
No word on who will place Trevorrow as director, but the good news is that Episode IX hadn't even started filming yet. Episode IX is due to hit theaters in 2019. In other news though, we are 100 days away from Episode VIII in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" which will hit theaters on December 15.
