Disney, 21st Century Fox Deal Likely to be Announced Thursday

The Disney-Fox mega deal could be announced as early as tomorrow according to CNBC. According to insiders, the companies are on a 'glide path' to make an announcement Thursday. Disney in fact became the sole bidder for Fox after Comcast dropped its pursuit on Monday.

In the deal the Walt Disney Company would acquire most but not all of Fox's television and movie assets, while Fox's news and business network. along with its broadcast and sports networks would remain separate. Fox's assets in the deal with Disney are seen as more than a $60 billion value. The exact amount has not been confirmed though.

The enterprise value of the Fox's assets in the Disney deal is seen as above $60 billion, according to sources. Current Fox shareholders would get one share of the Fox company that remains after the movie and television assets are sold plus shares of Disney in a fixed exchange ratio.

Stay tuned as this deal would come on the same day as many fans flock to see Episode VIII in the Star Wars trilogy tomorrow night in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

Milestone Celebrated for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge; First Look at Crait Plus a New Scene Coming to Star Tours

Milestone Celebrated for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

Just recently a big milestone was celebrated on construction of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Thousands of Cast Members got the chance to sign the support beam that will top out the land that will debut in 2019.

Look closely and you’ll see that cast members and Imagineers put their mark on theme park history by drawing artistic pictures and writing messages on the beam that’ll eventually be part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – a 14-acre remote outpost that will transport guests to a galaxy far, far away.
Beam signings are part of a longtime construction tradition at Disney Parks. Recent updates on beam signings for expansions like Pandora – The World of Avatar, plus the Disneyland park site of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were also celebrated by Cast Members.

Stay tuned for even more updates and milestones on Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge construction in the coming months and year. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will debut at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.

First Look at Crait Plus Another New Scene to Debut at Star Tours:

The new Crait scene from "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will debut at Star Tours at Disney Parks beginning tomorrow November 17. The other day the Disney Parks Blog gave us a first look at the StarSpeeder scene on the planet of Crait.

RunDisney Races Put on Hiatus at Disneyland for 2018 and Beyond:

As first reported by WDW News Today a few days ago, all runDisney races for 2018 and beyond at Disneyland have been cancelled. The reason the popular races are being cancelled are due to the multitude of construction projects around the park. Here is a statement from George Savvas, a Disneyland spokesperson:
“While construction for the next several years will impact our ability to deliver the runDisney experience our guests love, we are excited about our future as the Disneyland Resort continues one of its largest multi-year expansions. For fans who love to be part of runDisney events, we will continue to offer races at our other properties around the world in 2018.”
The final runDisney event for this year is fast approaching with the Super Heroes Half Marathon weekend taking place November 9-12, 2017.
