Special Character Greetings at Magic Kingdom for Easter; Reservations Now Open for Pixar-Themed Play Zone at Contemporary

Special Character Greetings at Magic Kingdom for Easter:

Beginning Monday, March 19 Magic Kingdom will hop into Easter season with some special character meet & greets for guests. This will include a visit from the Easter Bunny himself from Monday until April 1 (Easter) in the Town Square Courtyard.

That's not all as there will be a special pre-parade (before Festival of Fantasy) on March 31 and April 1 guests will be treated to a plethora of characters marching their way down Main Street featuring Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny, Daisy Duck, Thumper and Ms. Bunny, White Rabbit (Alice in Wonderland), Rabbit (Winnie the Pooh), Clara Cluck, Hippos, Ostriches, Dancing Chicks, and the Azalea Trail Maids from Mobile, Alabama.

Characters and events are subject to change without notice. Will you be visiting Walt Disney World this Easter season?

Reservations Now Open for Pixar-Themed Play Zone at Disney's Contemporary:

Last week, it was announced that a brand new child immersed program would begin next month at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Reservations are now open for the pilot program, called the Pixar Play Zone. It will be available nightly for kids 4-12 as they are transported into a world of their favorite characters from "Toy Story" and "The Incredibles."

In Bonnie’s Play Room, children will find a variety of toys. Around the corner, the Living Room will be the center for most of the action, starting with Space Ranger Training where a Space Ranger will teach kids what it takes to become a Jr. Space Ranger of Star Command, including how to identify enemies, like Zurg, and finally, the call of the Space Ranger, “To infinity and beyond!” Then, Woody and Jessie will show them the ropes of the Wild West during Woody’s Roundup – complete with a sing along for a rootin’ tootin’ good time!

Next to the Living Room will be the Radiator Springs Racetrack where youngsters will be able to build their own racecars and take turns sending them down a soapbox derby racetrack for Piston Cup Derby Races. Finally, they will learn some sweet dance moves during the Incredible Dance Party with Mr. Incredible and Mrs. Incredible that will be complete with a party host. That's not all as the night will include arcade games, dinner, and dessert.

The Pixar Play Zone will open doors for check-in at 5 p.m. where the experience will begin at the welcome desk, a stop at the "Monsters Inc." handwashing station, then at Boo's Closet Door, where kids will be able to store their belongings. The event will run from 6-10:30 p.m. for $65 per child (plus tax). Parents must be present for check-in and checkout and all children must be fully toilet-trained. You can now reserve this experience for your children by calling 407-824-KIDS.

Easter is Hopping into Tokyo Disneyland Beginning March 25

Mickey Mouse says grab your Easter baskets and comfy shoes because Tokyo Disneyland will host a "secret Easter garden" race during "Disney's Easter" where the springtime fun will begin March 25 and run through June 15.

Mickey, Minnie, and their pals will be dressed in new threads and their bunny ears in a new parade called the, "Hippity-Hoppity Springtime" parade. It will include three stops along the way on the parade route for an egg race hosted by Mickey.

The "Egg Hunt in Tokyo Disneyland" will send guests on an egg hunt around the park, much like the egg hunt around Epcot at Disney World last year. Here guests will have three courses to choose from, all different levels of difficulty, in this separate ticketed event. The Disney Parks Blog asks which character would you want to help with your egg hunt? That's an easy answer Mickey Mouse of course.

Quick Note:

Not much news today, on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Walls have gone up in Disneyland around Rivers of America to prepare for the construction for Star Wars Land. Other than that enjoy the rest of your day and "See Ya Real Soon."

Your Daily News from Around Disney 3/3/15

Today into tomorrow at my house we will experience almost all forms of inclement weather snow, sleet, freezing rain, and finally rain. There are 82 days until my vacation to Disney and it can't get here fast enough. I am so sick of winter but that is enough of me complaining. Let's get into the juicy info in today's news from around Disney.

Today, the Disney Parks Blog released a preview of the merchandise for the upcoming yearly event at Disney's Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekends. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the cost will be $250 per guest with registrations beginning tomorrow March 4 at 1 p.m EST on http://www.DisneyParksMerchandise.com.

This event will be much like last years event in 'Rebel Rendezvous' and will allow guest to preview and purchase new products created especially for Star Wars Weekends. Packages for the 'Galactic Gathering will include:

Sarah Michelle Gellar Joins Star Wars Rebels for Season 2:

Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels first season ended last night and now for season someone new will be joining the cast. Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar is joining the cast for season 2 of the animated series. The role will be a recurring role on the show. The voice cast for next season already has star-studded feel to it with Gellar's husband Freddie Prinze Jr., David Oyelowo, Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, and Taylor Gray.

Disney Parks Bringing Back Egg-stravaganza Hunt for Easter 2015:

Our last story is the arrival of what seems to be an annual event at the Disney Parks in the Egg-stravaganza Egg Hunt. From March 27-April 5 the popular egg hunt will take place at Disneyland, Disney's California Adventure, and Epcot. During the hunt guests will search for Disney character-themed eggs hidden throughout the parks, fill your map up and receive a prize. Guests must purchase their maps which will cost $4.95. Maps will be available to purchase at multiple locations throughout the parks. When you complete your hunt you may redeem your map for a prize that will look much like the eggs that you just hunted in smaller size. Prizes can be redeemed at the redemption location in each park (Elias & Co. in Disney's California Adventure, Disney Showcase in Disneyland, and Port of Entry in Epcot).

This Day in Disney History:

On this day March 3, in 1983 EPCOT's Journey into Imagination sponsored by Kodak debuts. It will officially open two days later.

Daily Disney Quote:

"When people laugh at Mickey Mouse, it's because he's so human; and that is the secret of his popularity."

Walt Disney

Well that's all for today and I'm going to end it simply as I always do in the words of Mickey Mouse, "See Ya Real Soon."
