Support Star Wars: Force for Change at Disney Parks, Goodbye to the Earffel Tower

Support Star Wars: Force for Change at Disney Parks Beginning Star Wars Day:

Star Wars: Force for Change is coming to Disney Parks beginning on Star Wars Day, May 4, 2016. Guests will be able to donate to Force for Change by purchasing new t-shirts that will feature the logo for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." The shirts will be in sizes for both adults and youth and will be the first products for the film to be released.

The Disney Parks Blog released this about how the proceeds will be donated:

"Twenty-five percent of the retail sale price of this product will be donated to U.S. Fund for UNICEF in support of UNICEF Kid Power. UNICEF Kid Power gives kids the power to save lives. By getting active with the UNICEF Kid Power Band, kids can go on missions, earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severely malnourished children around the world."

The t-shirts will be available at the locations inside Disney Parks:
Disneyland Resort
  • Disneyland park – The Star Trader and Star Wars Launch Bay
  • Downtown Disney District – D-Street and World of Disney

Goodbye Earffel Tower:

As expected, Disney removed the Earffel Tower, the once famous icon of Hollywood Studios, overnight. The tower which was built when the Studios opened in 1989 is being removed due to the construction of Toy Story Land.

The tower was built as to give then Disney's MGM Studios its backlot feel and stood as the park's icon until 2001 when it transitioned to the once standing Sorcerer's Hat that was taken down last year. With the construction of both Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land, the Studios is transitioning from the celebration of being in the movie to a park where guests will be experience their favorite films throughout the park.
