Your Daily News from Around Disney 4/2/15

It is a great day to be alive, and I hope everyone is out enjoying the day. Quick blog today with no jokes like yesterday. Let's take a look at what news is going on around the world of my favorite company Disney.

"Tangled: The Musical" is Coming to the Disney Magic:

Along with the Disney Parks Blog, today the Disney Cruise Line made a big announcement for one of its cruise ships. "Tangled: The Musical" is coming to Disney Magic this November. It will be the first time that the story of Rapunzel will be told on stage and the production will include brand new songs produced by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken.

Here is what was written on the blog about "Tangled: The Musical":

“Tangled: The Musical” will immerse you in Rapunzel’s fairytale world through lavish production numbers and spellbinding music. The show will stay true to the storyline from the hit feature film—with a few special twists to create a live staged production—featuring favorite characters like Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, the villainous Mother Gothel and Maximus the police horse. Three new songs created exclusively for this show by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater will bring the story to life onstage.

"Tangled: The Musical" will premiere on the November 11 four-night Bahamian sailing onboard the Disney Magic.

Disney Makes Plans for Live-Action Winnie the Pooh Film:

It shouldn't come to shock to anyone that Disney again today announced plans of another live-action remake of one of its animated classics "Winnie the Pooh." It is just another film to the list as the last few weeks Disney has been breaking news of which film they are working on next. The "Winnie the Pooh" live-action film will be written by writer Alex Ross Perry, most known for as the writer/director of the Sundance film "Listen Up Phillip.

The film will be based on a grown up Christopher Robin which will bring back to A.A. Milne's famous bear and the Hundred Acre Wood. There has been no set released date for the film. "Winnie the Pooh" joins a long list of planned live-action films that Disney has announced which include:
  • Alice in Wonderland (2010)
  • Maleficent (2014)
  • Cinderella (2015)
  • The Jungle Book
  • Alice in Wonderland 2
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Dumbo
  • Mulan
Which film do you think that Disney will announce as its next live-action remake of its many animated classics?

This Day in Disney History:

On this day (April 2nd) in 1940, Walt Disney Productions offers shares of its company to the public for the first time.

In 2007 at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, an attraction in Tomorrowland opens.

A quick read for my readers today as we are almost to the weekend and Easter. I am still undecided of what the schedule for the weekend will look like with the holiday. I know a blog will be up tomorrow and there will be one on either Saturday or Sunday. Anyways that's all for today and as always in the words of Mickey Mouse, "See Ya Real Soon."
