Goodbye Earffel Tower:
As expected, Disney removed the Earffel Tower, the once famous icon of Hollywood Studios, overnight. The tower which was built when the Studios opened in 1989 is being removed due to the construction of Toy Story Land.
The tower was built as to give then Disney's MGM Studios its backlot feel and stood as the park's icon until 2001 when it transitioned to the once standing Sorcerer's Hat that was taken down last year. With the construction of both Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land, the Studios is transitioning from the celebration of being in the movie to a park where guests will be experience their favorite films throughout the park.
LaughingPlace.com took this photo today with the view from inside the park:
Disneyland will be celebrating Star Wars Day next week with a day filled with festivities on May 4, 2016. First, guests may head over to the Tomorrowland Theater for a special screening of the "Star Wars Rebels" episode, "Shroud of Darkness." In the episode, our heroes Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka return to the Jedi Temple on Lothal to find out how the Inquisitors have continually been able to track them. The trio seek the advice of Yoda and while there they experience powerful visions that reveal the future, the past, and old friends long gone.
Jedi and Sith alike will also be able to collect special commemorative merchandise including all-new Star Wars collector glasses. Guests will also be able to commemorate the special day in a special-themed photo location. The party will then jump into light speed at 6 p.m. at the Galactic Grill Stage. Here Star Wars trivia and other special surprises will take place throughout the evening.
Join the party at Disneyland and of course, "May the Fourth Be With You."

New "Finding Dory" Short Trailer Released:
Today, Disney Pixar released a 30-second short trailer for "Finding Dory" to get us ready for the film that is due to be released on June 17. Check the teaser below:
Big Expansion Announced for Tokyo Disneyland:
Today, a huge expansion was announced by Tokyo Disneyland and the expansion is expected to be completed by 2020. What are the details you may ask of this amazing expansion? A new Beauty and the Beast-themed area that will expand Fantasyland is possibly the biggest part of the expansion. A new attraction in Tomorrowland based off "Big Hero 6." A new character greeting facility will be built at the entrance to Toontown. Finally, across the way at Tokyo DisneySea a new version of Soarin' will be built. Here are the full details:
The major attraction being built in the new Beauty and the Beast-themed area will have the newest technology and last for a genuinely incredible 8 minutes. According to the press release, guests will board enchanted serving dishes that will dance in rhythm to the film's well-known music. It will follow Belle on a romantic musical journey inside the Enchanted Castle where she dances into the heart of Beast, just in time to break the fateful spell. Also included in the new themed land will be a new shop and restaurant, details on both were not announced.
The new land isn't all that's coming to Fantasyland as a new 1,500-seat live Fantasyland Theaters will be built. It will be the first full-scale indoor theater for live entertainment at Tokyo Disneyland. According to the press release, the theater will be, "Signature Disney entertainment unique to Tokyo Disneyland and featuring the Disney Friends will be presented in this storybook theater environment."
The theater will be built near the Beauty and the Beast-themed area, towards Space Mountain and behind the new Tomorrowland attraction. That new Tomorrowland attraction will be based off of Disney's Academy-Award winning film "Big Hero 6." The first attraction based off the film inside a Disney Park.
The attraction will be much like Mater's Junkyard Jamboree at Disney California Adventure. It will be an exciting musical 'whip ride' that will swing guests unpredictably round and round. The ride should last for about a minute and a half. The attraction will tentatively open in Spring 2020.
Besides the "Big Hero 6" attraction a new outer space-themed shop will open, a first for Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, will be selling multiple flavors of popcorn. The story behind the popcorn at Tokyo Disneyland is that throughout the park that sells popcorn with crazy flavors that are supposedly amazing.
Guests will be able to meet Minnie in the new character greeting facility being built at the entrance to Toontown. Announced in the press release, "After walking through Minnie’s design studio and her work area with interactive elements, guests can meet Minnie in person, take pictures with her, and generally spend a memorable time together." Again it is set to tentatively be completed by Spring 2020.
Soarin' will make its debut across the way inside the Mediterranean Harbor section of the park and will open by fiscal year 2019. The attraction will premiere with original scenes and the newest visual images. If you notice though in the concept art the ride vehicle is much different that previous Soarin' attractions that use a hang glider. It almost looks like the flying machine developed by Leonardo Da Vinci. The attraction will be located across from Mysterious Island that is home to the iconic attraction, Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Elsewhere inside Tokyo DisneySea, "newer versions of current attractions and entertainment programs" are also being developed. Who's ready to book a trip to Tokyo Disneyland in 2020?

Dress Code Change for Palo on Disney Cruise Line:
One of Disney Cruise Line's adult-only restaurants, Palo, has recently changed its dress code to now allow jeans as long as they are in good condition and have no holes. Previously, jeans were not allowed to be worn inside the restaurant. Here is the new dress code taken from the Disney Cruise Line website:
“To preserve the elegant ambiance of this restaurant, you are asked to adhere to a dress code when dining at Palo. We recommend dress pants or slacks and a collared shirt for men, and a dress, skirt or pants and a blouse for women. Jeans may also be worn if in good condition (no holes). The new dress code applies for both brunch and dinner. Disney Cruise Line's other adults-only restaurant, Remy aboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, has not changed its dress code for its guests.

Names for Toy Story Land Attractions and More Details:
On the final day of their Awaken Summer Media Event, Disney revealed major details on plenty of their future attractions, shows, and dining. First up was an update on Toy Story Land. Guests will shrink down to the size of Buzz and Woody to explore the world of Andy's backyard with their favorite Toy Story characters. Today, they announced the two names of the attractions: Slinky Dog Dash and Alien Swirling Saucers.
Slinky Dog Dash will be a family style coaster that guests will want to ride again and again. The attraction features a coaster track assembled by Andy all across his backyard with his Mega Coaster Play Kit. He's used his pretty amazing imagination so he's combined it with some of his other toys. Kathy Mangum shared a concept video of the ride that zips, dodges, and dashes around many turns and drops that Andy has created to really make Slinky and his coils stretch to their limits. Check it out:
Alien Swirling Saucers will be an attraction that has been built from a play set that Andy got from Pizza Planet. Aliens will be flying around in their flying toy saucers as they attempt to capture your toy rocket vehicle with "The Claw."
"As you rotate around the toy planets and satellites as part of the game, you’ll swirl to the beat of fun “Space Jazz” music developed just for this experience, Mangum said. The music, the lighting, and the sound effects will add to the flurry of your adventure while “The Claw” looms ominously over you."
While Toy Story Land and its two brand new attractions won't open for a while some good news on the third track at Toy Story Midway Mania was announced by Mangum. The third track will open in time for this Memorial Day Weekend so even more guests will be able to experience the popular attraction.
Update on Star Wars Land:
During today's event, Scott Trowbridge gave an update on Star Wars Land. While not much was updated we did get a look at a small clip for the battle with the First Order attraction and a look at some new concept art. We also found out that the Cantina will be a quick-serve and the dinner club that will be fine dining to the max. For the full update watch this video from The DIS Unplugged team of today's event:

Frozen Ever After Will Debut in June at Epcot's Norway Pavilion:
While an exact date wasn't announced for the opening of Epcot's other newest attraction, Frozen Ever After, one can take a guess that it will be opening along with Soarin' Around the World on June 17. Here is the description from the Disney Parks Blog announcement today:

"Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire" to Open in June:
At Magic Kingdom, we just said goodbye to "Dream Along with Mickey" and soon we will be saying hello to "Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire." The new stage show in front of Cinderella Castle will debut in June. Special appearances from Tiana and Naveen from "The Princess and the Frog," Rapunzel and Flynn from "Tangled," and Anna and Elsa from "Frozen."
The show will bring to the stage fantastic costumes, lively dancing, special effects magic, and memorable musical moment including an original song, "On This Day," by songwriters Brendan Millburn and Valerie Vigoda ("Toy Story the Musical" and "Tinker Bell: The Secret of the Wings").
Here is the description of "Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire" that appeared on the Disney Parks Blog:
In the show, Mickey and his troupe of Merry Makers have been preparing to host a joyous festival and have ventured far and wide to invite friends from other lands to join their celebration. From the Land of the Bewitching Bayous, Goofy has invited Tiana, Naveen and Louis to add a little spice of New Orleans jazz to the party. From the Land of the Enchanted Woods, Donald Duck brings some new friends he met at the Snuggly Duckling, and Daisy introduces us to her special guests, Rapunzel and Flynn. Finally, Mickey shares a surprise with Minnie, as he has traveled to the Land of the Mystic Mountains to invite Olaf, Anna and Elsa, who contributes a blast of her icy magic. It all culminates in a grand dance, as the Merry Makers invite all their new friends to join in the fun on this special day in Magic Kingdom Park.
The fun will begin in June, again probably June 17, Disney is known for opening multiple things on the same day. Are you excited for "Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire."
